Feed is one of the most expensive inputs in aquaculture systems. Kemin AquaScience™ provides solutions to maximize the utilization of nutrients in the feed and enhance feed conversion efficiency.

Nutrient absorption enhancers help to improve nutrient digestion and absorption and reduce feed wastage. Kemin has discovered and pioneered the use of a modified lecithin product - lysophospholipids – which helps to improve the micelle formation, hydrolysis, and absorption of lipids.

Enzymes are used to improve digestibility, feed utilization and performance in fish and shrimp. Kemin’s enzyme products can be purchased separately or as a combination product with lysophospholipids.

Kemin AquaScience™ aims to help feed mills overcome a number of hurdles they are now facing. Aquafeed and feed ingredients are rich in nutrients, which invite microbial and oxidative spoilage that can significantly impact cost and quality. Protecting aqua feed and feed ingredients is important for aquatic species, and Kemin is dedicated to providing the industry with safe solutions to overcome these challenges.

Aqua feed formulations are rich in proteins and other essential nutrients that are highly susceptible to microbial spoilage, including molds and bacteria. Kemin’s antimicrobial products help control the growth of microbes in feed during storage, enhance feed mill economics and improve both pellet quality and feed safety by controlling pathogens such as Salmonella.

Lipid oxidation involves a series of irreversible chemical reactions that will negatively impact aqua feed quality and fish and shrimp health and performance. Kemin has a comprehensive understanding of “oxidation chemistry” and provides both natural and synthetic antioxidant solutions to improve feed and fishmeal safety, extend product shelf life and control the oxidation of animal fat.
