In early 2024, the World Food Prize launched the Top Agri-Food Pioneers (TAP) List, a new initiative recognizing 38 leading innovators from around the globe who are transforming food systems. This initiative honors the organization’s 38th anniversary and aims to build a network of trailblazers to facilitate co-learning and collaboration across food systems. The inaugural TAP List includes pioneers of various industries, all working in fields related to food or agriculture. These trailblazers will be featured at the 2024 Borlaug Dialogue in Des Moines, Iowa.

Among the distinguished honorees is Dr. Chris Nelson, President and CEO of Kemin Industries. Dr. Nelson's recognition as a World Food Prize 2024 Top Agri-Food Pioneer Awardee is a testament to his dedication to enhancing the global food supply.
Kemin’s Partnership with the World Food Prize and the World Food Programme
The World Food Prize is held in conjunction with the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, a three-day symposium in Des Moines, Iowa, US, that brings together more than 1,000 participants, including international experts, policy and business leaders, and farmers from more than 50 countries. This event addresses cutting-edge global food security and nutrition issues.
Kemin has also partnered with the World Food Programme (WFP) for nearly two decades, contributing to emergency food programs and ensuring food safety and quality. In 2023 alone, WFP responded to 47 sudden-onset emergencies and delivered food to 101 million people in 72 countries. Kemin's scientists have shared their expertise to help WFP ensure that food is safe, nutritious, and has a long shelf-life, even in the harshest conditions.
