Myco CURB® Benefits Animal Feeds

Myco CURB, a blend of organic acids, is formulated to inhibit mold growth in processed feed ingredients, complete feed, and total mixed rations. Myco CURB contains propionic acid, blended with sorbic and benzoic acids. It is buffered for improved equipment and employee safety and contains surfactants, which help uniformly spread the product.

Molds are ubiquitous; they can infiltrate feed and decrease its nutritive value. Before you realize the problem, molds, left unchecked, can produce mycotoxins, namely aflatoxin, T-2 toxin, and zearalenone. Feed is the single largest cost input in your production. Moldy grain costs you money, time, and productivity. Why pay the price when you can profitably combat mold problems with Myco CURB?

Propionic acid is considered a strong mold inhibitor; however, it is corrosive to skin, mucous membranes, and equipment. Kemin has reduced the corrosiveness and vaporization of propionic acid by buffering it, allowing it to remain active in the feed for longer time.

Surfactant has also been added to the Myco CURB, which increases the penetration of water inside the feed particle thereby reducing the water activity and increasing starch gelatinization.

Myco CURB is available in the following variations:

  • Myco CURB Aw DS – This product is designed for pelleted broiler feed. It improves feed mill efficiency and augments feed hygiene for a longer term. Its recommended rate of application is 0.5kg to 1kg per MT of feed.
  • Myco CURB GT – This is a unique product to be used for storage of grains in silos. Recommended dosages are 1kg to 3kg per ton of feed.
