Our Commitment to Quality:
Kemin invests a great deal in maintaining top-of-the-line manufacturing facilities and conducts rigorous quality assurance testing of incoming and outgoing material. In 2010, we chose to further formalize our commitment to quality by pursuing Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked certifications. These are quality certifications that GFSI has identified as meeting food safety standards worldwide.

This level of certification is not required of Kemin, but does provide documented reinforcement of our commitment to providing only the highest quality products. In the last two years, three Kemin facilities passed an audit and received Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000), a GFSI recognized scheme. In January 2012, our production facility in Belgium received FSSC 22000 for all food ingredients manufactured in the facility. Shortly thereafter, the Kemin plant extraction facility in Des Moines received FSSC 22000, and most recently, the certificate is applicable to our large-scale manufacturing facility in Des Moines, which produces ingredients for feed, food and pet food. Other facilities are currently ISO 9001:2008 certified with plans to receive GFSI recognized certifications in the near future.

Our Commitment to Service:
Kemin is committed to providing customers with innovative solutions – both in our products and our service. All our employees are given the freedom, tools, time and resources to develop unique solutions for our customers. We believe in continuous improvement and continuous change to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and we will work until those needs are met.

Kemin Customer Laboratory Services (CLS) teams are dedicated to providing customers with laboratory services tailored to meet each customer's unique needs. Using their technical expertise and problem-solving skills, our CLS staff can discover the source of problem and develop a solution, establish correct application rates, and identify the most effective points of application. Our CLS teams work with customers to troubleshoot problems and ensure they receive the maximum value from Kemin products.

As with any business, it's always about making partnerships work by going the extra mile. "We've got a good relationship with Kemin, for example,” mentions Peter. "While they have good products, they have actually been able to add value to our business in ways other than just product transactions. The backup service they have been able to provide in the last 12 months has been exceptionally good. Our Commitment to Technical Expertise:
Not only does Kemin commit to excellence in our research group, but in all of our internal business areas. Our technical service representatives bridge the gap from our labs to those of our customers. Kemin experts use applied knowledge and real-life industry experience to ensure what is discovered in our lab is applied in customers' operations in a manner that will yield the highest possible return on investment.

In 2005, Kemin validated its technical expertise by pursuing the International Organization of Standardization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025:2005 standard, an internationally recognized standard that validates an organization's testing or calibration methods. While ISO 17025 is not required, Kemin chose to be reviewed by third-party accreditation bodies to instill a high degree of confidence in its analysis.

This accreditation was awarded in 2005 to the company’s quality assurance/quality control facility in Singapore in the field of chemical and biological testing by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC).  This certification has been audited annually to obtain recertification, demonstrating its ability to consistently meet the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.

Furthermore, the Nutrisurance Customer Laboratory Services (CLS) facility of Kemin, responsible for analyzing pet food and pet food ingredients in Des Moines, received ISO 17025 accreditation on October 30, 2013 in the field of chemical testing by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

"Our customers have come to expect our industry-leading lab methods, validation work, and standard operating procedures," said Ben Bowen, worldwide CLS director for the company's petfood division. "We're extremely proud to offer our customers the same or higher level of service when compared to many of the commercial laboratories around the world."
